Our Tuesday meeting with U.S. Rep. John Tanner (D, Union City) went very well! He admitted that he doesn't co-sponsor legislation often, but that he would do what he could to help. During our conversation, we talked about the importance of community broadcasting, and he was an avid listener to the entire discussion (he was very pleased to know we weren't asking for funding!).

Here's hoping that he sees that H.R. 2802 is a good bill, and that he'll step up to the plate to co-sponsor it, even if he doesn't have a habit of co-sponsoring legislation.

We've got a meeting with Representative Tanner! On Tuesday, March 25th, we're going to introduce the Trenton Radio Project to Rep. Tanner at his Union City office. We plan to ask him to co-sponsor H.R. 2802 during the meeting, and to describe what LPFM could mean for our city.

We've also received word that Rep. Marsha Blackburn has also signed on. Slowly but surely, we're getting the word around!

n the days to come, I hope to organize the first of a series of Guidance Meetings, with interested parties from Trenton. These meetings will help to formulate our leadership, and distribute information about advocacy for LPFM.

Props to Danny Jones of the Herald-Gazette, for printing information about our appearance before the City Council!

I attended a meeting of the Trenton City Council. The Councilmembers and the Mayor were very welcoming, and they listened attentively about LPFM, and what it could mean for our community. Gentlemen, thank you so much for listening and asking questions!

Most of the information discussed already exists on this page, but there were some very good questions from the gallery. Once the meeting adjourned, I was approached by a police officer, who asked, "If this station gets running, could I host a show on veterans?"

The benefits of running an LPFM station revolve around the types of programming that we provide. Naturally, that officer has just as much access to the microphone as anyone else, provided that he (and other hopeful show-hosts) attend FCC broadcast training.
